Professional Hunting Shows (Monster Bucks) and time of day they hunt?
Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009Why is it that in their morning sequences it is always light out and like 9 or 10 AM when they’re shooting deer? In around 5-6 years of hunting and getting to my stand or spot on the ground I have never seen a deer after 8 AM just walk around and moving, only if someone pushes them out of beds. Is it because the deer they hunt have a ton of food plots to choose from? I also know they need light for the camera, but it just seems too late in the morning for deer to be moving. I hunt on the east coast by the way. Our bow, rifle and muzzleloader seasons run from the beginning of october to the middle of december. With school I am in the woods 12-20 days per year (not counting turkey and bear seasons) with some after school evening hunts. Thanks.
Question about hunting w/ unlicensed out of state friends in NY state (hudson valley)?
Saturday, December 19th, 2009A couple of friends from New Jersey are coming up to do some hiking/camping up here in the Hudson Valley area, and I was thinking of doing some small/medium game hunting while out there. I have my license but is there a limit to how many people I can be with who are unlicensed? Can they be armed with something that is not a firearm or bow such as a pellet gun? Can they hunt non protected fur bearing varmint or “open hunting” species such as red squirrels, English sparrows, or wood chucks that are open season all year, night and day? I know for sure I can be with at least one unlicensed “guest” who is not carrying a firearm, I just need a follow through. Thanks!
What is my bow worth?
Sunday, December 13th, 2009The bow is an older model compound bow, A Golden Eagle Predator Tree stand. Never been hunted with but shot a couple times. It’s in great condition with a fair/good string. It’s draw can go from 28-31 inches and the poundage can go from 45-60. It’s a double cam and it’s color is Authentic Mossy Oak Bottom-land camo. It’s just a bare bow also no sights, rest, quiver, nothing. Once again it’s in great condition and never been hunted with before.
