I am interested in getting a bow. I am short and have a short draw length. (23″) I was thinking about getting the Parker Buck Shot. Do you have any idea’s or is this a good starters bow? I have never shot a bow before, I am interested in learning before I decide to hunt with it.

If you’re serious about archery and bowhunting, then save yourself the hassle of buying a “starter” bow. Go to an Archery shop that actually has a few lanes to shoot. Kind of a “Pro-Shop” for archery enthusiasts. Go in and pick up different bows and play with them. Find one you’re comfortable with and let the pro’s there set it up for your draw-length, draw-weight, etc. They will also help you zero it it and put on the peep sights and cut your arrows for you. You might spend $50 more or so, but being able to walk out of the shop with a tuned bow already customized to you is a great feeling.
While i agree with the first answer whole heartedly. There is also a new bow out called a Genisis by Hoyt. It will fit any draw size or weight. There are also some proshops out there that use these bow as rentals. Look in your local yellow pages for bow shop. It’s a fun sport. I enjoy it alot.
