Bow-Fobia?

tackelberry88 asked:

I’m new to bow hunting. Never shot before in my life. I shot it a few times, but apparently I haven’t been shooting it correctly as what friends are telling me after I showed them what happen to me after a negative experience shooting my bow. I shot my compound with my arm fully extended and it really shows! The problem is now, is that I’m all shook up about it. How can I re-gain my confidence in shooting?

It’s like riding a bike, at first you get scuffed up some .
    But you just keep trying.
How you get over it, one arrow at a time.
We all get bow bet at first, it’s part of the learning curve.
Just keep shooting and very soon your posture will improve so it don’t happen.
I believe you may be rolling you wrist in to the string.
Keep your arm straight and your wrist in line with your arm.
You just need to build up the muscles in your wrist so it does not roll in to the string and get in the way, every time you shoot you are building up the muscles so keep shooting.
You can get a arm guard and it will help some until you get your shooting posture down then you will not need the arm guard any more.

Believe me, it doesn’t take to many times of doing that before you learn your lesson. But stick with and it will be worth it.

I did that the first time i shot my bow, but the next time i didnt lock my elbow and shot it fine, still couldnt aim it, but i shot it fine/ Look at your stance before you let the release go and fix whats wrong and you should get used to it quickly.

That’s not as bad as zipping up to fast, but it still hurts.

Don’t lock your arm. You can also wear long sleves. and an arm guard. Go to your local archery store.

    Toughen up
