Can you still go Bow Hunting during Gun season?

Wright the Radical asked:

My little brother and dad have started hunting, and my brother is convinced you can still bow hunt during gun season. My dad thinks otherwise…Oh, and we live in Michigan.

well im not an expert hunter but ive hunted before. I don’t think it really matters if you obey the hunting laws.

  2. Marc says:

No, that’s why they have a separate season set up for Archers, and a separate season set up for guns.*

  5. Tac-Ops says:

yes you can in my state but you have to wear blaze orange so the rifle hunters can clearly see you, i dont know why anyone would want to though the bow season is really long just take a week off!

  6. Ansil S says:

Yes you can I am 100% positive. You just have to obey the gun law, and wear orange. The guy belowthat wrote no is a retard. I went yesterday and I called the DNR and said they had no problem with it.

Check your 2008 Hunting guide, most likely yes. Here in Manitoba, Canada, 2008 Manitoba Hunting Guide, General Rifle Seasons; During a big game general rifle season, a hunter may use a centerfire rifle, a shotgun (minimum 20 gauge) firing a single projectile, a muzzleloading firearm of appropriate calibre firing a single projectile, a crossbow, archery equipment OR ANY COMBINATION OF THE ABOVE. Also must wear Hunter Orange vest ( 400 sq. in.) and Hunter Orange head wear. My problem is is trying to figure out what I should use, Compound bow, 7mm Remington Magnum Rifle, 12 gauge Shotgun, Cross Bow, or .50 caliber Muzzleloader, and then what combination.

Laws vary from state to state. You will need to check the laws in your state to see if it is legal. The man at your local gun shop can probably tell you. Most states publish a booklet of hunting laws and it is free at your local gun shop. It will have all the answers to your questions.
