Hunting in BC?

joshuaskelton asked:

I have just got a 40 lb. bow and a set of Carbon arrows.

I am wondering what you need to do to be able to hunt in Canada (B.C.) with a bow, for things such as Whitetail deer?

I WILL give the best answer ten points!

(unlike most people who ignore don’t)

i live in the southeast corner of BC or the kootenay region. bow hunting here opens sept. 1st for big game animals. there is a spring turkey season that a lot of people use bows in. i have friends and family that bow hunt and have been very successful on white-tail, mule deer and elk. in the last few years the deer and elk population has exploded. if you can’t get an animal here you’re lazy. don’t forget your fishing gear if you are coming up. the fishing here is excellent and hunting season is the best time to do it. your set-up sounds like a fine choice for the area as the longest shot you would have to make with a bow and a little patience is about 30 yards.

    very best of luck
