What is a great Recurve/Compound bow to learn with?

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010
novanoveu asked:

I am interested in learning archery, not so much for hunting as for sharp shooting. Seeing as I am completely new to this field, I have no idea what reputable brands are, whether I should pick a recurve or a compound bow, and once I’ve decided that, how to pick the right model for me (height, pounds). Any advice?

whydotheystink asked:

I have a tree fort that wraps around the whole tree that I use for hunting. Right now it is only about 8 feet high, and it doesn’t seem like it is high enough. I have to stand up to get a shot off and every time i do the deer see me and spook. How high should it be to bow hunt?
thanks

Bow for a beginning archer?

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009
Sarah asked:

I’ve taken an interest in archery.. as a hobby, not for hunting. I’m wanting just a basic, traditional looking bow. I don’t care for those fancy looking ones that look almost like a gun. Something cheap also, since I’ve only used a bow once, and not very well.
Also, I’m quite small. 5’3 and tiny. Should I get a youth bow?

Compound Bow vs. Recurve Bow?

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009
gwfactions2 asked:

I was thinking about buying a bow. Im not sure which one is better. What do you archers think about a compound bow and why do you think its used for such as hunting, fishing, or just shooting targets. And same question for the recurve bow im thinking about buying the Martin X-150 recurve bow. Is it any good, if so what makes it good, if not what makes you dislike it?

How many woman out there are hunters?

Friday, October 16th, 2009
Paulda37 asked:

Just curious how many women hunters there are out there? My husband has always hunted and one of our sons loves to hunt. Never had any desire myself to hunt, but I decided to take the hunters safety coarse and give it a try and I love it. In Ohio its bow season, and I’m doing it and never thought I was good enough to get one with a bow, but I did and I got a 7 Point buck. I was so proud, and I did it on my own, hunting with a friend. My husband was pretty shocked I think when I called him on the cell phone and disturbed his hunting for the help to track my deer down and drag him out of the woods. What a proud day it was. So just anxious to hear about other woman hunting!
