Seeing as I am completely new to this field, I have no idea what reputable brands are, whether I should pick a recurve or a compound bow, and once I’ve decided that, how to pick the right model for me (height, pounds). I have a tree fort that wraps around the whole tree that I use for hunting. Right now it is only about 8 feet high, and it doesn’t seem like it is high enough. I have to stand up to get a shot off and every time i do the deer see me and spook. How high should it be to bow hunt?

Never had any desire myself to hunt, but I decided to take the hunters safety coarse and give it a try and I love it. In Ohio its bow season, and I’m doing it and never thought I was good enough to get one with a bow, but I did and I got a 7 Point buck. I was so proud, and I did it on my own, hunting with a friend. My husband was pretty shocked I think when I called him on the cell phone and disturbed his hunting for the help to track my deer down and drag him out of the woods. What a proud day it was. So just anxious to hear about other woman hunting!
