The silverhawk comes adjustable for plus or minus 28″ and in 45-55#s. The majority of arrows available would be in aluminum or carbon. Now days there isn’t much price differnce between the two and I would highly suggest carbon. Carbon takes a real beating, flies faster (and as a result straighter) and can be used over and over for hunting and target. Aluminumums tend to dent, bend, and break. I would buy the least expensive carbons you can find by looking at the arrow charts to match up your draw lengh with the poundage. If you have a choice go for the brightest colored fletching but not white. If you go deer hunting, you don’t want “white” anything to catch another hunter’s eye, but you do want to be able to find arrows that have missed the target. I would suggest for a begining archer to go with 100 grain field points or broadheads, but experiment with others to see what flies best from your bow. I think you will find using a release will make accuracy easier to achieve, but don’t forget to pack it with you when you go out, you shouldn’t switch from fingers to release and back again, choose one or the other. It sounds like you are new at this, so one last bit of advice, When you shoot at a target, make sure there is ample clearance behind it and that no one is going to walk in between you and the target! Even the best archer can miss and it is amazing how far an arrow will fly after it ricochets off the top of a target. Always go with SAFETY FIRST. Before shooting, check your string and wheels to make sure nothing is damaged or off. Good luck.

Choice of arrow is determined by your draw weight, draw length,
and a little bit by point weight.
(Heavier point, lean toward the stiffer shaft.)

You should use arrows made specifically for you AND your bow. In other words…

Properly-made arrows designed specifically for the bow you will be using, at the draw-length you will be using, and for the specific purpose you will be using them for. And it doesn’t matter whether the arrow is made of wood, aluminum, carbon-fiber or fiberglass, as long as it is made properly for the intended purpose.

It’s the arrow that does the important work. The bow is just the means of delivering the arrow to the intended target.
