Go to an outdoors store that sells used bows. I buy all my bows used and have never disappointed. I have spent between $100 and $200 on each bow. The Oneida line is older and heavier but they are very forgiving, great for beginners, and very smooth (dont forget cool looking). I currently shoot a Darton Yukon for $150 that I shot side by side a $900 Mathews bow and preferred the darton. No matter which bow you choose, make sure it feels right to you. Comfort means consistency and that means accuracy. Good luck

Bear Brand, not expensive and move up as you become better.
