really depends what you need to hunt for. Such as some animals are only found in national parks there for you can’t actually “crossbow” them
You need a hunting licence to hunt on public land in Australia. Contact the SSAA they’ll help you out.
Last time I checked crossbows were prohibited weapons in Melbourne, which means you need a prohibited weapons licence which means you can’t use it in public. Look into archery.
